Energy Performance Certificates
Following the Government’s implementation of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) Regulations 2007, social Landlords are required to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) from October 2008.
This means that from the 1st October 2008, an EPC is required when a social housing property is rented to a new tenant, or when it is a non-marketed sale e.g. through ‘right to buy’ or leasehold purchase.
As there is some confusion over what social landlords are expected to deliver, PH Jones Limited, specialist social housing contractor and EPC service provider, is providing social landlords with free training.
EPC training seminar
As an EPC service provider, the following questions are regularly asked:
- When do we need to produce EPCs?
- Can we stagger the programme?
- What is collective assessment and has it been approved / defined?
Therefore the company is delivering two free EPC training seminars explaining social landlords’ obligations and the timescales for implementation. The seminar will provide social landlords with an understanding of what is required along with a range of options for EPC delivery.
There are two seminars scheduled for:
- Tuesday 29th July, Cannock: 1.30 – 3.30 pm
- Wednesday 30th July, Manchester: 1.30 – 3.30 pm
